MEET UP: Building an Investor Mindset

Have you ever wondered how investors really think when deciding which startups to support, which ideas to back, and what kind of future they help shape?
At Building an Investor Mindset, we won’t just talk about investing – we’ll show how startup investing works in practice, and how the way investors think can be applied far beyond the world of finance.
📅 February 12, 2026 | 6:00 PM
📍 Ložionica, Belgrade Waterfront
The evening opens with an introduction to different types of investing and investor thinking, led by Nastja Preradović Višić, Founding Partner of a stealth LP advisory firm supporting investors in navigating complex Health and DeepTech funds globally.
A central part of the event is a live startup pitching experience.
✨ Special Guest Dr Olga Petrović, DMD, MBA, CEO of Neofunction, will present her company as if the audience were investors, offering a rare opportunity to hear how a startup is pitched when raising capital – and why a strong pitch and a clear business model matter.
Following the pitch, Nastja Preradović Višić and Christoph Berndt, CFA, angel investor and finance expert, will demonstrate how investors think, what questions they ask, and how they evaluate a business seeking funding. If time allows, the session may include a live simulation of an investo-startup discussion.
Nastja’s professional and life journey is anything but linear.
In her twenties, she simultaneously:
-
raised two children
-
studied interdisciplinary sciences (physical chemistry)
-
volunteered
-
and worked in early-stage, family-run businesses in the Balkans
From that period, she developed a deep understanding of how challenging it is to build something from the ground up – whether a company or a person.
Over the years, she has worked across every layer of the innovation ecosystem:
-
as part of a startup team during a pivot phase
-
building deep-tech accelerators and innovation programs
-
gaining insight into the formation of health-focused angel investor networks
-
contributing to the education of VC investors and emerging fund managers
-
and supporting LP investors in evaluating health-focused funds on a global level
Today, Nastja is building a company that helps LP investors make better decisions when investing in complex deep-tech funds, by connecting the knowledge of leading global tech LPs with insights from highly specialized domain experts who rarely sit at the same table.
During this event, we will explore:
-
how investors evaluate people, ideas, and potential
-
what startups and the innovation ecosystem really are – beyond buzzwords
-
how innovation reaches our everyday lives
-
why the lack of women and diversity of thought in investment decision-making is a global issue
-
and how each of us can develop our own inner investor and make more conscious decisions
This is not a lecture about money.
This is a lecture about perspective, responsibility, and the future we are building together.
